The name 40Tech refers to it being a technology blog for adults. In their own words, it's "a look at technology, gadgets, the internet, software, and video games for those over 40, but not over the hill." It's like something I would suggest to my parents. They're both technically over 60, (you're not fooling anyone, mom and dad) but I still think this site could help them determine how to tweet and what a facebook is. You may think I'm being a cruel son, but my dad, no kidding, recently said to me, "So this is a facebook." I'm sure this blog could help him. I'd send it his way if I were confident he could open the link.
Today on the site, there's a piece on Google+ and why people should join it. There's a section on how to use your Mac more easily. I also really appreciate the piece on how to tell if your wordpress site has been hacked. 40Tech is not really for the code writers and programmers out there. Nor is it the blog for the teenager who knows everything about the internet. This is the blog for the internet user who doesn't know everything, but wants to know more.
My parents might be too far gone for this site. But my grandfather (98+Tech) has a yahoo account. Maybe I'll send the link his way.The truth is there's a lot of great information, resources and tips on 40Tech. I'd recommend it for all ages.
