Founded in 2006, Geekologie is a tech blog committed to bring their readers "the scientific study of gadgets, gizmos, and awesome." And after spending about 30 seconds on this blog, I can vouch for the awesome. For example, maybe you'll find these nerd love cards awesome. Or maybe, you're the type of person to find pictures of night surfing set against bioluminescent algae awesome. Still you might prefer apocalypse-proof survival balls that you can actually crawl inside of. Regardless of who you are, you're bound to find something awesome on this site.
But maybe you're saying to yourself, enough with the awesome. Where are the gadgets? Where are the gizmos? Well, don't you worry. Geekologie has that covered, too. Just today they reviewed the new iPhone 4S... and they did so with a really great sense of humor. I don't feel comfortable transcribing it all here, but the 1080p video capability bullet point made me laugh out loud. Actually, the whole review is pretty funny. Here's a highlight that's slightly cleaner than the other one I alluded to: "Personally, I'm cool with my regular-a$$ iPhone 4 for now, but when I smash it to $#!% in a drunken rage (and it WILL happen), I'll inevitably spring for the 4S." I admit it's a little crass. But it's how a lot of people talk.
And it's also pretty funny. A lot of product reviews, and tech blogs in general, can be a little dry. They can be boring. But nobody's going to accuse this blog of being dull. This is someone's voice. This is genuine. This, for lack of a better word, is awesome.
