I'm Not a Foodie is the blog for those of us who aren't professional chefs, but still really, really love to eat. Borrowed from the classic Big Pun song, the site's banner and catchphrase says it all: "I'm Not a Foodie (I just eat a lot)." To that end, the blog's author, Tom, works a full-time job. But in his free time the guy is straight up obsessed with food.
And that's what's so great about food blogs. We can follow people like Tom on I'm Not a Foodie as they take on the experiments, challenges and adventures of spending time in the kitchen. But what really sets I'm Not a Foodie apart, what you probably won't see anywhere else, is the Wilbur Challenge.
That's right. Tom is attempting to eat (and chronicle the eating of) an entire pig throughout the 2011 calendar year. We're talking nose to tail here and everything - EVERYTHING - in between. I'm pretty sure that I've never heard of anyone trying to eat an entire animal. And while this may disgust my older sister (and others like her, maybe), it appeals to me on a number of levels. Even if you're not a carnivore like my sister, you still gotta admire the effort. Plus he's making these charts outlining how much further he's got to go in the endeavor. And who doesn't love charts?
Now, you may say to yourself, "This is just crazy. He'll never do it. He'll never eat the whole pig. There's no way." But I bet, like me, you'll check back to see if he does.
