A marketing, communications and branding leader with more than 20 years of experience conceiving and implementing successful messaging, branding, business development, customer service and public relations campaigns, Bruce Mendelsohn is Principal and CEO of The Hired Pen, a strategic marketing, communications and PR firm.
Since leaving the U.S. Army in 1993, Mr. Mendelsohn has earned national level PR, communications, and social media accolades in law enforcement, business, and the US government and military. He has researched and presented a report to the US Congress in support of a national plan to transform Federal detention management functions and operations; promoted the beloved national crime-fighting icon, McGruff the Crime Dog; and helped to promote and raise funds for the $80 million campaign to build the National Law Enforcement Museum. He also founded and operated a marketing communications consultancy, The Hired Pen.
Mr. Mendelsohn has wrote, placed and been interviewed for stories in national media outlets, including CNN's Wolf Blitzer Presents, The Situation Room, and Headline News, ABC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, FOX News, Associated Press, America Online, The New York Times, USA Today, The Boston Globe, and TV, radio, and newspapers throughout the U.S.
A graduate of Vassar College, Mr. Mendelsohn holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. He has completed 17 marathons, is an award-winning triathlete, and a certified Madd Dogg Spinning Instructor.
