      Steve Yucknut is Vice President for Sustainability at Kraft Foods Inc. and is responsible for building sustainability into the companys business strategy. Steves guidance impacts all of Kraft Foods products around the world. His approach is to empower employees to make business decisions that reflect Kraft Foods approach to sustainability meeting the needs of the present while being mindful of the future. He challenges his team, and all employees, to generate ideas that will help grow the companys business and reduce costs, while protecting the environment and society. Focus areas are corporate social responsibility; CSR; certified commodities; coffee; cashews; cocoa; Rainforest Alliance; Fairtrade; Bill & Melina Gates Foundation; Eco-efficiency and sustainable manufacturing.

      Steve joined Kraft Foods in 1987 as a Co-op in Packaging R&D for Post Cereals. He has received five patents during his 20 year tenure at Kraft Foods, along with numerous awards at Kraft Foods and in the food industry. Steve worked as an Engineer/Scientist across a variety of divisions and product lines and gained experience in R&D management between 1996 and 1999.

      In 1999, Steve moved to Operations when he was named Operations Business Team Leader. He then became the Director of OTP (Operations, Technology and Quality) for the Beverage Division in 2001; and in 2003, became Senior Division Manufacturing Director for Beverages where he had direct responsibility for five manufacturing facilities and all of headquarters operations. In 2005, Steve became the Senior Director of Manufacturing Business Development & Engineering where he took on added responsibility for coffee and sector engineering for headquarters and in the field.

      Steve is experienced in conducting media interviews for print and television.
      Educational background:
      Steve has a B.S. in Packaging Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he is a member of the schools Board of Advisors. He also has an M.B.A. in Operations Management from DePaul University, has studied packaging at the University of London and has a number of certifications from UMass Lowell for plastics and plastics processing.
