Melissa Simas Tyler is a director within O’Neill and Associates’ communications practice. In this role, Ms. Simas Tyler provides support for a range of public relations functions, including strategies, media outreach, messaging and branding.
Before joining O’Neill and Associates, Ms. Simas Tyler served as a reporter and anchor at KARK Channel 4, an NBC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. There, she interviewed a number of celebrities and politicians, including President Clinton and Governor Huckabee, and produced countless in-depth and investigative reports. In her capacity as an anchor, she also represented the station as an emcee and personality at local events. While in Arkansas, Ms. Simas Tyler was the recipient of two Associated Press Awards.
Prior to that, Ms. Simas Tyler reported for KAIT Channel 8, an ABC affiliate in Jonesboro, Arkansas. There, she revitalized the coverage of local, regional, state and national politics for the local station. Ms. Simas Tyler began her career as a production assistant for MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews”.
Ms. Simas Tyler is a graduate of Boston University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. While at Boston University, Ms. Simas Tyler was selected to participate in a prestigious internship program in Washington, DC during her senior semester. Ms. Simas Tyler currently resides in Taunton, Massachusetts.
