Area(s) of expertise: Writing, Grammar, Journalism, PR
Summary of expertise:
Steve is a core media relations and social media practitioner for his accounts, securing media coverage in business press, trade magazines and blogs, executing Facebook and Twitter campaigns and writing content for publication. He also serves as InkHouse’s unofficial resident grammarian, helping clients deploy muscular verbs in written pieces and editing documents for Associated Press style.
Prior to working at InkHouse, he served as a general assignment reporter at GateHouse Media New England, where he reported on all things local, including a heated debate about whether or not to gut a billowing tulip tree. He also interned at New England Cable News at The Boston Globe and WLNE-TV/ABC6 in Providence, R.I., learning the ins and outs of broadcast news such as VO/SOTs, packages and live TV production. His love of media began in elementary school when he pretended to chase breaking news stories about cops and robbers in his neighborhood.
When he isn’t pitching news or omitting instances of the Oxford comma, he’s skiing, working out, watching and attending sports games, traveling, hanging out with friends and family and staying connected to his iPad and iPhone. He’s armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American studies and writing from Providence College. Needless to say, he’s a stickler for AP style and grammatical correctness, always sending text messages and writing greeting cards in the de facto news-writing fashion.
