Marni Becker, Director of Cruise Sales for Protravel International, has been selling travel since 1995, after eight years in the hotel industry. A love of cruising from an early age made the decision to switch to selling cruises easy. Currently, Marni is working as a liaison between Protravel and the various cruise lines to improve exposure and develop marketing opportunities to increase overall cruise revenue by Protravel advisors. Also, Marni is actively selling both ocean and river cruising globally.
With over 80 cruises under her belt, Marni believes continual education is important to successful selling of cruises. Being based in NYC gives Marni perfect opportunities for ship inspections and in many cases re-inspection of ships that haven’t been viewed for a few years. Previously, Marni’s time in the hotel industry was spent working in Front Office Operations, Sales & Catering. After all these years, she still adores selling cruises. There is nothing like introducing someone to the world of cruises and the new horizons they bring. Marni believes, “any day at sea is better than a day on land.”
Marni’s travel tip: Make sure you pack a tiny pharmacy with you. You never know when you may need something that is not so readily accessible elsewhere.
