This weekend, we launched a revamped PR Newswire for Journalists site with a sleek new look and several new features that will make finding what you need even easier than before. You can read about those changes here: PR Newswire for Journalists Gets a Makeover.
The upgrade also included several enhancements to the ProfNet site for journalists that we think you’ll really like. I’ll break each one down over the course of this week.
So far, we’ve covered how to manage your query inbox and how to save your query preferences. Today we'll look at how you can search our experts database on ProfNet Connect through a simple link on the profnet.com site.
How to Search the Experts Database
Log on to the ProfNet site at www.profnet.com and click on Search Experts Database:
This will redirect you to the ProfNet Connect site, where our experts database is housed. Please note: Because ProfNet Connect has its own login system, you’ll want to log on to ProfNet and click on the Search Experts Database link to access it. This way, ProfNet Connect will recognize your profnet.com login and will grant you access. If you go to ProfNet Connect directly, you’ll need to register separately if you want access to contact information.
Once on ProfNet Connect, type your keyword(s) in the search field:
Tip: To search for an exact phrase, put your search in quotes.
The results page will give you a brief snippet of the expert’s profile, along with a picture, if available.
You can contact the expert in one of two ways:
- Click on the expert’s picture to open his/her profile and view direct contact info.
- Click on Contact This Person to send him/her a message through the ProfNet Connect site.
If you click on the expert’s picture, you’ll be able to read more about him/her, including direct contact information:
That’s it! I hope you’ve found this series helpful in managing your ProfNet query flow. If you have any questions or feedback about any of the features, please drop me a note at email@example.com. Happy querying!
