ARLINGTON, VA.: PRSA presents "PR Boot Camp: Key Concepts and Techniques of Effective Public Relations," June 12-13 at AMA Washington Area Executive Conference Center. Robin Schell, APR, Fellow PRSA, will give an overview of the PR profession, including PR and communications concepts and techniques, major issues presently facing the PR, and how to create a PR plan based on a case study. ATLANTA: PRSA’s Georgia chapter is hosting "A View from the Cockpit: Successfully Navigating the Jet Stream of Communications," June 13 at Maggiano’s Buckhead. Shan Cooper and Johnny Whitaker of Lockheed Martin will discuss communications and the role it plays in influencing key business decisions, driving employee engagement, supporting members of the U.S. and international armed services, and identifying new growth opportunities for the world's largest defense contractor. BOSTON: Social Media Club Boston is hosting a panel discussion, "Authors Night: The Evolution of Social Media," June 14 at Boston Public Library. Several Boston-area authors will share their adventures in social media, read highlights from their books, and discuss insights into how the marketing world is changing. Details

PORTLAND, ORE.: Online News Association is hosting a panel discussion, "Find Your MoJo! Best Tools & Practices for Mobile Journalism," June 13 at Oregon Public Broadcasting. Confirmed panelists include Tony Thomas, video blogger for Comcast's VidBlogger Nation; Brian Conley, co-founder of Small World News; Kristian Foden-Vencil, reporter, OPB News; and Frank Mungeam, director of digital media, KGW.
