      Summary of expertise:
      A former high school math teacher and current math curriculum developer, I published Math for Grownups (Adams Media) in 2011. I am also the math expert at MSN.com's Mom's Homeroom. My take is simple: math doesn't have to be your BFF, but you can get along in public. I am also an experienced freelance writer and blogger.

      Speaking and being interviewed on issues surrounding math education, including, but not limited to: what kids are expected to know, math anxiety, math and parenting, using math in our everyday lives, using math to save money, etc., the importance of math and math education.
