Jeff has devoted his legal career to handling Family Law matters and working to improve the field of Family Law as a whole. A frequent author and sought-after speaker, Jeff has covered a wide range of Family Law topics, including the tracing of assets, division of retirement benefits, enforcement of orders, defending the non-protecting spouse, how to try a temporary hearing in 20 minutes, collaborative law, shadow juries, mini-trials, educating parents, and helping children before, during and after divorce. A Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Jeff also is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and a past member of the Texas Family Law Council. He has been an active member of the Dallas, Denton and Collin County Bar Associations and, in 1999, served on the first governing body of the newly formed Family Law Section of the Collin County Bar Association. Previously, Jeff led his own firm, The Anderson Law Group, for 17 years.

Through his efforts – including chairing the Special Concerns of Children Committee of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – he has earned accolades from both his legal peers and the media. Jeff has been honored in D Magazine each year since 2004 as one of Dallas' best lawyers, and selected to the annual Texas Super Lawyers list each year since 2003, reflecting his status among the top 5 percent of lawyers in the state. Jeff has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1999. He is a member of the AAML, Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, State Bar of Texas, State Bar College, Dallas Bar Association, Collin County Bar Association, Denton County Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Collaborative Family Lawyers, and a founding member of the Collaborative Law Alliance of Collin County.

He is a 1994 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree in 1991 from Texas A&M University.
