      Summary of expertise:
      ay Orr is the executive senior director for research, editorial, and content for the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. In this role, Orr works with the museum's curatorial and editorial staffs to develop and implement exhibits and publications. He develops, writes and edits for all museum publications including books; exhibit catalogs; educational materials; liner notes for historical reissue recordings and DVDs; material for the museum’s website; and media scripts. He also works with the museum’s education and public programming teams to develop and implement special programs designed to extend and enrich the visitor’s museum experience.

      Orr first joined the museum in 1984 as a librarian and researcher. In 1989, Orr left the museum to cover music and the music industry for daily newspapers the Nashville Banner and The Tennessean. In 2000, he became managing editor for CMT News and CMT.com. Orr returned to the museum in 2002.

      Orr holds an undergraduate degree from William and Mary and a master’s of library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
