We are a group of UK academics investigating the benefits of plants in indoor environments; specifically, in terms of indoor air quality improvement i.e. the removal of airborne pollutants. Additionally, this group hopes to bring other relevant research into the public domain, highlighting the multi-faceted benefits of having plants indoors.
The groups research predominately focuses on simple, cost effective potted houseplants, recently however, research from several international groups has focused on indoor green walls –displaying significant improvements in a range of areas including indoor air quality. Indoor green walls seem to be the future of indoor plant research thus, relevant advances will be further presented by this group.
Photos of our experiments, indoor plant housekeeping tips and links to relevant scientific literature will be provided on our social media accounts. Moreover, blog posts will discuss the findings from established and new pieces of research, creating concise reader friendly posts concerning indoor plant research.
Indoor plants provide numerous benefits, are low cost and are readily available to everyone!
