Howard Meitiner is President and CEO of Phoenix House, the largest non-profit alcohol and drug abuse treatment and prevention facility in the nation. Each day Phoenix House treats more than 7,000 persons in over 150 residential and outpatient programs throughout ten states. Since 1967, Phoenix House has been putting men, women and teens on the road to recovery.

Mr. Meitiner is an expert on the treatment and prevention of alcoholism and drug addiction. A member of the Phoenix House Board of Directors since 2004, Mr. Meitiner worked with Phoenix House founder Dr. Mitchell Rosenthal in 2006 to help restructure and strengthen the organizations New York programs. Phoenix House drug and alcohol treatment programs include: --Phoenix Academies, residential high schools for teens in treatment for drug and alcohol abuse; --Long and short-term residential drug treatment centers for adults; --Intensive outpatient and day programs; after-school programs for teens; programs for mothers with small children; recovery residences; and programs for the mentally ill, for homeless persons, and for drug and alcohol abusers in prisons. |
