Summary of expertise:
Dr. Selker is the Dean of Tufts University Clinical and Translational Science Institute (Tufts CTSI) and the Executive Director for the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies. He is a key adviser to the House and Senate on features of the Affordable Care Act as it relates to comparative effectiveness research (CER), a key component of the legislation. He is a regular expert adviser to the Obama administration on the ACA around the merits and value of CER, which can both improve patient outcomes and help control medical costs. Dr. Selker was recently a panelist in a national conference hosted by CTSI titled: The Affordable Care Act: A National Experiment. He was joined by key policymakers, government officials and others who were involved with the development of this historic legislation to examine priorities, objectives and next steps for healthcare policy in the post-ACA passage era.
