      Hahrie C. Han can speak with expertise on elections and electoral behavior, political participation and the role of organized interests in American politics.

      White paper/research:
      She is currently working on a research projects examining the causes and consequences of partisan polarization in America; on the way membership-based organizations can enhance members' overall level of political engagement and participation; and internal organizational factors that affect overall political effectiveness; and on the changing dynamics of congressional primary elections.
      Books/articles published:
      Han's work has been published in the British Journal of Political Science and Legislative Studies Quarterly. She is currently writing a book to be published on how people are motivated to participate in a democracy.
      Han was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow from 2002-2005, and received Stanford University's Centennial Teaching Award in 2002.

      Educational background:
      Han received her Ph.D. in American Politics from Stanford University in 2005 and her B.A. in American History and Literature from Harvard University in 1997.
