Dr. Murray Cohen serves as Medical Advisor to Wello Inc. Murray L. Cohen served for 21 years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a career Public Health Service officer. His specialty area was the prevention of occupationally transmitted infections, including bacterial diseases (anthrax, tuberculosis) and blood-borne viruses (HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, Ebola). After retiring from the CDC in 1996, Dr. Cohen founded Consultants in Disease and Injury Control, Inc. (CDIC) and the Frontline Healthcare Worker's Safety Foundation Ltd.
When anthrax was first identified as the active biological agent of the 2001 mail delivered attacks, Dr. Cohen worked on the frontline with the responding government agencies. His involvement began at American Media, Inc., where the fatal index case occurred, and continued with his consultation and participation at other contaminated governmental and private sector facilities. He was awarded a patent for Bioweapons, Decontamination, anthrax.
Dr. Murray Cohen earned a Ph.D. in occupational and environmental health sciences at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago, a Master's Degree in Community Health Sciences from the University of Texas School of Public Health, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, with honors, from the University of Texas.

Dr. Cohen leads a scientific team conducting ongoing research on modes of transmission of bloodborne viruses, reconsidering fever management without pyretic medications.
Dr. Murray Cohen has received numerous honors, including commendations from the US Public Health Service. He is also the author of journal articles, book chapters, government publications and training videos on a variety of health and safety related topics. He is a Diplomate in the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene Association, AAAS, American Society of Microbiology, and numerous foreign national biosafety associations, Biological Safety Association, American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists and the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
A Certified Industrial Hygienist, Dr. Cohen is an internationally recognized expert in occupationally transmitted infectious disease risk assessment, and biosafety/biosecurity. Dr. Cohen was a charter voting member of the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity, and served on the Federal Interagency Expert Panel for Anthrax Spore Efficacy Test Methods and Surrogates. He has consulted for the NIH as well as several other U.S. and foreign government agencies, and for the World Health Organization.

Dr. Cohen has been a bioterrorism commentator for Fox News and national print media, and was an expert commentator for all media during the Dallas Ebola outbreak of 2015-2016. He has helped develop sampling techniques, containment strategies, safe mail handling procedures, and decontamination techniques. He also serves on several anthrax task forces, ad hoc committees, and has provided briefings on Capitol Hill. In numerous comprehensive risk assessments, he is helping to create smarter and more secure work environments, participating in Wello, Inc. research. Dr. Cohen has also been a leader in helping American business understand the science behind the attacks. From helping companies properly handle copycat incidents and hoaxes, to providing comprehensive risk assessments, he is helping to create safer, smarter and more secure work environments.
Dr. Cohen earned his B.A. with Honors in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas, his Masters of Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago.
