    Summarize your expertise in greater detail Mark Harvey is the author of Celebrity Influence, which discusses the way global media markets have led celebrities to influence politics. He has also published articles on human rights, economic development, democratization, the politics of innovation in the music industry, the politics of sports, and virtual learning teams in the classroom. He has ongoing projects on the effect of music on perceptions of political candidates and issues and the use of games and simulations in the classroom. He also is a contributor to Trax on the Trail, a project that produces data, articles, and teaching resources about the creative use of music and sound in politics.



    He has a Ph.D. in political science, with specializations in international political economy and global politics, and teaches in the MBA and political science programs at the University of Saint Mary.



    He has also been a small business owner and professional consultant. His consulting work included studies in education in the U.K., political marketing in Ireland, conflict forecasting and management, technical marketing, corporate social responsibility and the environment, and competitive benchmarking.



    Dr. Harvey is the Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs at the University of Saint Mary. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education.
