      Biography:
      Deborah is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Head of the Acting/Performance Program at Jacksonville University. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston in both Theatre and Humanities and her Master of Fine Arts in Acting/Performance from The Ohio State University. Her directing credits number over 75 plays both locally and regionally and include such favorites as "Hamlet," "The Grapes of Wrath," "Ragtime," "All My Sons," "Heartbreak House," "Company," "Twelfth Night," "Buried Child," "The Shape of Things," "Hedda Gabler," "Reckless," "Three Penny Opera," "Picnic," "You Can’t Take it With You", "Anton in Show Business," "Laughter on the 23rd Floor," the national premiere of the Helford Prize for Playwrighting winner, "Isaac, I Am" and "Little Shop of Horrors," at Jacksonville University, "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" and "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change" at The Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine, The Curious Savage, Candida and Beau Jest at Players By-the-Sea in Jacksonville Beach and "The Middle Ages" and "The Children's Hour" at Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre.

      Deborah is also an accomplished actress, garnering awards both nationally and regionally. In 2008 she added the moniker of playwright to her list of creative titles debuting the first draft of her play "The Calling" in a staged reader’s theatre version at ABET. She is currently doing research and working on another play, "Fabulous Florence," about the colorful characters in the first mining town in Idaho County, Idaho. Jordan was co-founder and Artistic Director of The Jacksonville Stage Company, Jacksonville’s only non-profit, professional theatre company from 2000-2004 where she directed the regional premiere’s of such critically acclaimed productions of "Wit," "Art," "Sideman," and "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change," among others.

      Fall 2010 Deborah co-directed her first feature length film with Film Studies Professor Carolina Conte and the JU Theatre and Film Studies Programs which debuted in Swisher Theater on the Jacksonville University Campus November 2011. Deborah does public speaking and consulting work in the business community in speech and professional presentation techniques. She is also a private coach in acting, vocal /oral interpretation skills and professional voice-over techniques.
