Speckhard (rt.) is president & CEO of Lutheran World Relief, an international humanitarian organization that works to strengthen communities living in poverty through programs in agriculture, climate, and emergency support. He served as Ambassador to Greece from 2007-2010, a senior official at NATO from 2000-2005, and Ambassador to Belarus from 1997-2000. He also served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Iraq from 2006 to 2007.
