Civility awareness and a common foundation of considerate conduct are crucial to our future life. • Her works have been nationally recognized and published in numerous magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens; Loveable Gifts for Baby, Creative Ideas for Living, McCall’s Needlework and Crafts, and Simplicity Bridal Sewing and Crafts. She has also been recognized for her creations in national level competition skating events, as well as clothing for the disabled. • In November 14, 15, 1994, at the request of the American Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, she was the tailor-on-call to then President Clinton at the Asian Pacific Economic Conference (APEC). • Member of AICI Civility Counts and the city of Alexandria Virginia partnered with AICI as they embark on a new journey to spread a positive “civility epidemic” around the world. Inspired by Dr. P. M. Forni’s book, Choosing Civility: The Twenty-Five Rules of Considerate Conduct, the AICI Civility Counts Project is a multi-faceted long-term initiative aimed at gaining international support for embracing civility and motivating people from all walks of life to make it part of their everyday lives. Each proclamation received was recognized and prominently displayed at the AICI Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, May 20-23, 2010 in celebration of May 2010 as International Civility Awareness Month. • Is a member of the AICI’s Civility Counts Project, a member of the Washington DC Metro Area Chapter of AICI as well as the Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Society. “It is an honor to bring the Civility Awareness to the people of Alexandria. Even more, it is an honor that this project should come full circle to the hometown of George Washington, whom as a young boy of thirteen had jotted notes of social rules into a notebook and titled his book The Rules of Civility. In sharing this common goal for a more gentile and thoughtful approach to handling life and business we all win. Our lives will be enriched through the thoughtfulness and courtesy to others,” said Peterson. Mayor William D. Euille of Alexandria, Virginia declared the month of May 2010 – AICI International Civility Awareness Month for the City of Alexandria. Acts of incivility have become prevalent in today’s complex, competitive society and affect the quality of life for all who live, work in, and visit our City of Alexandria. In keeping with the fine direction by our founding father George Washington, we think he would be proud to be a part of a project dear to his heart. “Every Action done in Company ought to be with Some Sign of Respect to those that are Present” is Rule 1 in George Washington’s Rules of Civility. These words ring true for his beloved Alexandria. • Is also an AICI Civility Ambassador for the City of Alexandria, Virginia and received the AICI’s Civility Star Award 2010 in Vancouver BC for her work on the “Civility Counts” Project. This is was also the first week of the year long 90th Anniversary celebration of the First Modern Art Museum in America. • Provides professional image consultant and design consultant services specializing in couture. Her interest and passion is the creation of a complete client package by dovetailing this unique skill with image consulting, creating a unique synthesis of fashion and image transformation. Her unique expertise has created a broad client base in the greater Washington, DC area with executive-level customers in corporations, U.S. Government agencies, academia and those re-entering the work force. • Her career and love of apparel when only in 5th grade when it was discovered that she had scoliosis (curvature of the spine) I also started to learn about the spine and how posture can affect a person. While she could not control my spinal curve through exercise, practicing good posture has been a lifelong lesson for her. That is why she is passionate about good posture and why I want to help you. Learning to fit over the Milwaukee brace and create garments lead her design expertise. Also when reaching 30 years old her spine collapsed additional surgeries and occurred helping her to learn more about the spine and fitting and care. She gives seminars on the care of the healthy spine and how to help the adolescences prevent problems by good posture now.
